NAVROZE – 19th August 2018

The Parsi Zoroastrian Association of Singapore had a ball of a time at their Navroze celebrations filled with Fun and Fiesta!

The evening began with the blissful echoing of the children’s prayers led by Behroze Aunty. Then followed a warm and heart felt speech by people’s favourite, none other than our PZAS President, Mr. Neville Dotivala.  It is always a pleasure hear him speak in his jovial and unique style.

Next half hour saw everyone charmed and cheering the children on stage as they put up a fantastic skit featuring from the epic, Tales of the Shahnameh.

The young ones depicting the times of ancient Persia from the “Tales of Warrior Saam and Mystical Bird Simurgh’   and ended with the ‘Unconquerable love of Zaal and Princess Rudabeh’.

The was spearheaded by our lovely Azmin Daver who worked endlessly with the children to have a grand outcome.

But wait, there’s still more!

The bar was jam-packed and dinner was relished with exquisite traditional dishes such as Sali boti,  Saus-ni-Machi,  Marghi na Farcha, Mutton Pulao Daal , Veggie Stew and more, with the icing being  all time favourite, Lagan nu Custard. All prepared by the watchful supervision by Chef  Zubin  Rupa who had been especially flown in from Bombay to cater for the occasion.

After the wine and dine, everyone geared up to the dance floor.  The young and old in their Garas and Daglis, all swaying together.

The event was organized proficiently by our PZAS Secretary, Khurshid Choksey along with the selfless support and efforts of the committee members.  And ofcourse, our cheerful host for the evening, Natasha Karanjia did a splendid job of managing an enthusiastic crowd of over 225 people.

The event was truly a memorable one and will be remembered for a long time to come. Good thoughts, good words, good deeds……to the year end, happy indeed!
